Paul Hollywood Silver fox says he gets his hair dyed – to look whiter, does it to hide the black and grey in his barnet.
Paul, 56, confessed: “I go to the hairdressers because they’ve got to basically whiten the rest of my hair.
“Years ago, I was very pepper. Then I was salt and pepper. And now I’m just salt.”
He said he’s proud that he has gone all white instead of colouring it black or brown.
He crowed: “I’ve always been dark, dark brown as opposed to black, but I like the fact that I don’t colour my hair.
“So many people out there, they colour their hair on telly. I’d love to name them but I’d never do that to people. But people know. People in the know, they know. Ultimately I’ve got God’s highlights.
“We’re just going disgracefully grey and white.”
The scouser told the Fuelling Around podcast: “I started going grey when I was 16… I was 16 and I was in school.
“You know, like the Peter Parker’s [boss in Spiderman], I think he was the editor of the Daily Bugle and he started getting white streaks. I was like that when I was 16.
But I was lucky I’m not bald, as my Grandad was bald.
“My Dad is still around and he’s still got a full head of hair at 70.”
Paul is set to appear in his new show Paul Hollywood Eats Mexico, series will see him travel around Mexico to immerse himself into different cultures and cuisines, arising on Channel 4 later this year.
It follows on from Paul’s other international cooking show Paul Hollywood Eats Japan, which aired on Channel 4 in 2020.
Paul said about the series: “I’ve never been to Mexico, but I love Mexican food. I knew there would be chillies, tortillas and tequila.
“But real Mexican food is different from anything I’ve had in the UK, where we have the Americanised version known as ‘Tex-Mex’.”
